Civil Litigation Attorney (Environmental)

Career Consulting Partners is excited to be working with a medium-sized firm that is all about attorneys who want to plant their roots and build a meaningful career in law, working on meaningful cases. We are in search of a civil litigation attorney with a desire to work in environmental law, representing businesses in lawsuits related to soil/groundwater contamination, CERCLA sites, and toxic torts. We also represent insurers in coverage disputes arising from environmental claims. We are looking for someone who enjoys the energy and collaboration that comes from working in the office.

We have a strong onboarding and training program designed to help attorneys develop the necessary subject matter expertise. However, candidates should possess a solid civil litigation foundation, preferably from an insurance defense background, which will serve as the framework upon which they can build a successful environmental litigation practice.

Responsibilities:

• Manage environmental litigation matters from inception through resolution.

• Conduct legal research, draft motions, pleadings, discovery, and other litigation-related documents

• Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses, and assist with trial preparation when necessary

• Develop case strategies and work closely with clients, experts, and senior attorneys

• Analyze in court, mediations, and other proceedings as experience permits.

• Collaborate with a highly respected team of attorneys handling sophisticated environmental

Requirements:

• 2 - 5 years of civil litigation experience

• Insurance Defense experience strongly preferred

• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills

• Experience handling discovery, motion practice, and depositions.

• Ability to independently manage cases while working collaboratively with a team

• Excellent organizational and communication skills

• Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.

• Billable Requirement

Location:

• Burbank, CA (flexible)

Compensation & Benefits:

• $120,000 - $190,000
