Job Opportunity Position: Sonographer - Cardiac Specialty

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Sonographer to join our team in the Ultrasound department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality diagnostic exams and procedures as per physician orders, while ensuring efficiency and maintaining a positive working relationship with patients and team members.

Shift Details

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM (40 Hour Guarantee)
• Weekend Requirements: No weekends
• On-call Requirements: 1 weekday night

Job Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic exams in a timely and efficient manner, utilizing downtime to assist colleagues as needed.
• Verify exam charges and maintain the five-day late list daily for the ultrasound department.
• Manage workload during high patient volume to optimize care and communicate pending exams and pertinent information to fellow technologists.
• Support physicians in performing radiology procedures.
• Foster positive relationships within the department and address concerns with the supervisor, representing the department positively to staff and other employees.
• Maintain necessary supplies and manage inventory efficiently while exploring new methods for supply utilization.
• Handle equipment safely and appropriately according to established guidelines and policies, maintaining a clean work environment.
• Participate in required hospital and departmental in-services and meetings.
• Adhere to safety and infection control policies at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Current Equipment

• 3 Philips CVX Epiq machines
• 1 Philips Elite Epiq machine
• Vasculab ABI machine

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sonographer.
• Proven experience in Echo and Vascular procedures.
• Ability to perform Echocardiograms with Definity Contrast.
• Skilled in conducting various Echocardiogram and Vascular studies, including TTE, TEE, stress echo, venous reflux exams, venous dopplers, carotid doppler, arterial doppler, ABI, pericardiocentesis, thrombin injections, and vein mapping exams.
• Proficient in starting IVs.
• Experience with MediTech EMR.
• Current ARDMS Certification.
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification.
