Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist (RT) Pediatric (PEDS) position is based in Dodge City, Kansas. The organization is seeking qualified respiratory professionals to provide adult, pediatric, and neonatal respiratory care in an acute care setting. Candidates are required to bring their Kansas license on the first day of the assignment. This role offers a rotating schedule with shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, reporting at 6:30 am.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 11.5 hours per shift, with no set days, and rotating weekends.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Kansas license, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) via National Board for Respiratory Care, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), PALS (American Heart Association), and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) via National Board for Respiratory Care; minimum of 1 year of experience; location in Kansas.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with adults, pediatrics, and neonates in acute care settings.
- Float: Float rotation may be required if agreeable.
- Additional Information:
- The role involves drawing arterial blood gases (ABGs) and performing electrocardiograms (EKGs).
- RTs are required to assist with intubation but are not expected to perform independently.
- Equipment used includes vents, Bipap, and Vapotherm from Hamilton or Vapotherm brands.
- The department has hospitalist or intensivist coverage in-house.
- Department-specific orientation is provided.
- The hospital can cancel up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
- No call or standby call requirements are specified; response time is not applicable.
- The role may require self-scheduling and involves covering inpatient areas without sleep lab experience.
