Job Summary:
The organization is seeking a Surgical Technician / Operating Room Technician specializing in Sterile Processing at a healthcare facility located in Garden City, Kansas. The selected candidate will be responsible for decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and scope reprocessing duties, including acquiring a da Vinci robotic system. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.
Job Details:
- Location: Garden City, Kansas
- Schedule: Evenings, Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM, minimum of 37.5 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) and Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) via the Healthcare Personnel Standards Association (HSPA); two years of experience in sterile processing or related field; located in or willing to relocate to Kansas; valid state license to submit is not required; minimum of 0 years of experience
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience with shared department responsibilities, including common orthopedic, general, gynecological, and gastrointestinal cases; familiarity with acquiring da Vinci robotic systems; experience in an acute care setting; experience noted as preferred, not mandatory
- Additional Information: Responsibilities include managing decontamination, assembly, sterilization, scope reprocessing, and supporting OR including GI cases; department is covering multiple OR suits; orientation will be conducted on-site during the week of orientation, even if initial modules are remote; role requires adherence to surgical scrubs dress code; no floating or self-scheduling required; no trauma level is specified; no BSN required; no license to submit is necessary; turnaround includes weekend call and required response time of 30 minutes; an interim Sterling Processing Department Manager will oversee the unit.
