CDR General Services is seeking a 1st Shift-Fitter to join our team in Calvert City, KY. The ideal candidate will have experience in barge repair and marine fabrication and thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment. Job Details

- Pay Rate: $29 per hour
Schedule
- First Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and work orders
- Lay out, fit, align, and assemble structural steel and barge components
- Repair and replace structural barge components including plates, stiffeners, frames, and bulkheads
- Measure, cut, tack, and prepare materials for welding and fabrication
- Work closely with welders and supervisors to ensure proper fit-up and fabrication quality
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, grinders, torches, and measuring equipment
- Inspect materials and completed work for accuracy and compliance with specifications
- Ensure all work meets quality standards and safety requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in barge repair or marine fabrication required
- Experience fitting structural steel and marine components required
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work orders independently
- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and fit-up procedures
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, and measuring tools
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
