Senior Engineer (Stability Naval Architect)
Location: Coastal City, USA

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer (Stability Naval Architect) to join our team. In this crucial role, you will leverage your expertise in naval architecture and vessel stability to ensure the safety, performance, and compliance of our marine products. As a senior-level professional, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the design and development of our industry-leading solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive stability analyses and assessments for a wide range of marine vessels and platforms
- Develop and optimize stability-related systems, including ballast, trim, and load management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate stability considerations into the overall design process
- Ensure compliance with relevant maritime regulations and industry standards
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Participate in research and development initiatives to drive innovation in vessel stability solutions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 8 years of experience as a Stability Naval Architect or Senior Engineer in the marine industry
- Proven expertise in stability analysis, including the use of specialized software and modeling techniques
- Strong understanding of maritime regulations and industry standards related to vessel stability
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work with cross-functional teams
- Professional engineering certification or license preferred
Working Conditions:
This position is based in San Diego, with occasional travel to project sites and client locations. The work environment is primarily office-based, with some time spent in laboratories and testing facilities. A flexible schedule and the ability to work independently are essential.
