General Cardiology Locum Opportunity – New York
A healthcare system in New York is seeking a Board-Certified General Cardiologist for a long-term locum assignment. The provider will work primarily in an outpatient setting with occasional inpatient consult responsibilities and limited call coverage.
Compensation: Regular: $280/hr, Night Calls: $2220 per 24 hours
Position Details
Specialty: General Cardiology
Start Date: August 2026 (anticipated)
Assignment Length: 6–9 months
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM
Coverage Requirement: 3 weeks per month
Seeking one provider committed to the ongoing schedule
Practice Setting
Primarily outpatient cardiology clinic
Occasional inpatient consult coverage
Solo physician practice environment
Epic EMR
Clinical Responsibilities
Outpatient cardiology clinic approximately 3 days per week
Supervision of cardiac stress testing approximately 1 day per week
Overnight call coverage as needed (4:00 PM–8:00 AM)
Hospital consult service participation as needed
Reading cardiac imaging studies preferred
Nuclear stress test interpretation preferred but not required
Patient Population
Adult patients
Mix of routine and complex cardiology cases
Requirements
Board Certified in Cardiology
Active New York medical license required
Epic experience required
AHA or RQI certifications required
Strong preference for providers with 5+ years of experience
Ability to work independently in a solo practice setting
Preferred Qualifications
Experience reading cardiac imaging studies
Ability to interpret nuclear stress tests
Recent outpatient cardiology experience
Additional Information
Provider will rotate between outpatient and inpatient locations within the same health system.
Current need is for a physician who can provide consistent monthly coverage rather than sporadic availability.
Credentialing and privileging process should allow for an anticipated August start date.
