Field Engineer II – Overview

The Field Engineer II is responsible for implementing, supporting, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure across corporate, pharmacy, and support locations. This role involves configuring and troubleshooting network equipment, supporting technology deployments, ensuring security and compliance standards are met, and helping maintain business continuity in a complex LAN/WAN environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Install, upgrade, and support network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and telecommunications equipment.
  • Implement and support corporate technology solutions at remote and onsite locations.
  • Design and deploy network solutions to meet business needs.
  • Troubleshoot network, hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
  • Support mission-critical system changes while minimizing business disruption.
  • Configure and support end-user equipment, printers, multifunction devices, and peripherals.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate security standards, audit requirements, and HIPAA regulations.
  • Participate in an ongoing on-call rotation.
  • Travel extensively to support locations throughout the organization.


Required Experience

  • 4–6+ years of network engineering, infrastructure, or field engineering experience.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, network troubleshooting, and cabling infrastructure.
  • Experience with firewalls, routers, switches, MPLS, fiber, telecom services, and WAN technologies.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux environments.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA, Microsoft, Meraki, or VMware are preferred.

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working independently in the field.
  • Able to travel 80%+ of the time and perform physical installation work, including lifting up to 100 lbs.


Travel Requirements

  • Approximately 80% travel.
  • Frequent driving and air travel to support multiple locations.
