The steward plays a vital role in maintaining cleanliness and order in various environments such as residential homes, boats, and commercial buildings. This independent position focuses on day shifts with responsibilities including cleaning, managing inventory, providing customer service, and collaborating with others when necessary. The role involves moderate physical activity like lifting and standing to ensure a well-kept and responsive service environment.

PAY & EMPLOYMENT
Training Rate: $18.00/hr, effective from your first day through the completion of your Day 30 milestone review.
Post-Training Compensation: Upon successful completion of the Day 30 milestone — as assessed by the Bosun and Owner — your skill level will be evaluated and a compensation adjustment discussion will be initiated. Pay is determined by demonstrated performance, not tenure. There is no fixed ceiling.

JOB DESCRIPTION
On the Flye LLC is a detail-first property services company based in Belfast, Maine. We clean residential homes, short-term rentals, commercial properties, and yachts across Midcoast Maine — and we do it to a higher standard than most.
We’re hiring a Cleaning Specialist (Steward) to join our W-2 team. This is a full-time, consistent-schedule role with real room to grow.
What you’ll do

• Perform weekly, bi-weekly, and deep cleans across residential homes, STR properties, commercial spaces, and yachts
• Follow property-specific checklists for each job — every property type has its own standard
• Document your work with photos and notes after every clean
• Flag any damages, missing items, or maintenance issues immediately
• Work within set time frames while maintaining quality standards

What success looks like
We use clear performance standards — no guesswork. Strong performers on this track are eligible to move into a Lead Stew role, which comes with a pay review and expanded responsibilities, within 90 days.
Requirements

• Valid driver’s license
• Reliable personal transportation
• Ability to work on your feet for extended periods
• Strong attention to detail across varied property types
• Professional demeanor in client homes, businesses, and on vessels at all times
• Ability to pass a background check
