Job Description
Pride Health is hiring Bilingual Certified Medical Assistant to support a mobile pediatric healthcare program in the Houston, TX area. This is a 13-week contract opportunity and an excellent chance to work with a leading paediatrics healthcare organization while making a direct impact in community-based patient care.
Job Details
- Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (Bilingual)
- Location: Houston, TX (Mobile Clinic Program)
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM
- Contract Length: 13 Weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours/week
- Local's pay range: $18-$22/hour
Duties
- Collect and document patient information, including vital signs, height, weight, BMI, medical history, medications, allergies, and reason for visit.
- Assist providers with pediatric patient assessments and direct patient care following established clinical protocols.
- Perform basic clinical procedures and screenings using medical equipment and specimen collection techniques.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation within the electronic medical record system.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and team members to ensure efficient patient flow and quality patient care.
Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduation from a Medical Assistant or Emergency Medical Technician program required.
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
- Pediatric experience preferred.
- Bilingual skills required.
Certifications (One Required)
- CCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, NRCMA, RMA, or equivalent Medical Assistant certification. OR EMT, EMT-A, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, or Licensed Paramedic certification accepted.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Skills
- Pediatric patient assessment and treatment knowledge.
- Medical terminology proficiency.
- Experience obtaining vital signs and patient histories.
- Familiarity with specimen collection and basic laboratory equipment.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a mobile healthcare environment.
