Position Description
The Custodian is responsible for keeping areas throughout the program clean, sanitary, and well-maintained in order to provide residents and visitors a safe and welcoming environment within the residential treatment setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform a range of duties to maintain a clean and safe physical environment throughout the program’s buildings and grounds. This may include dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing spaces such as bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, meeting rooms, and vehicles.
- Refill supplies, such as toilet paper and paper towels, as needed.
- Ensure that any dangerous materials used for cleaning are properly labeled and stored under lock and key.
- Communicate any need for repairs promptly to maintenance staff.
- Assist maintenance staff with landscape maintenance, snow removal, and building repairs.
- Read and follow the policies and procedures of Northwest Passage as stated in the Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must pass a criminal background check
- Excellent time management skills
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team
