Rework Operator

About the job:

The Rework Operator performs precision soldering, touch-up, and component rework on circuit boards to

ensure products meet quality and IPC standards. This role supports production efficiency by maintaining high standards of workmanship and collaborating closely with engineering and quality teams.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has a basic understanding of electronics or manufacturing processes
• Pays strong attention to detail and follows instructions accurately
• Communicates clearly and works effectively in a team environment
• Can thrive in a fast-paced, production-oriented setting
• (Preferred) Has at least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or inspection environment
• (Preferred) Holds IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721, J-STD-001, or IPC-A-600 certification
• (Preferred) Understands component polarity and identification, including resistors and capacitors
• Has basic computer skills and can read, write, and communicate effectively in English
• Is proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and bills of materials

What you’ll do:

• Perform hand soldering, rework, and touch-up for SMT and through-hole assemblies, including BGAs and ICs
• Remove and install components in compliance with IPC standards (IPC-7711/7721, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600)
• Operate BGA rework, X-ray, and soldering equipment as needed
• Use pre-heating tools, hot air guns, and mini-solder pots when required
• Clean and prepare PCBs using appropriate chemical solutions and tools
• Apply flux, solder mask, and conformal coating manually
• Inspect PCBs to ensure compliance with quality requirements
• Report non-conformances and collaborate with engineering to resolve issues
• Demonstrate proper rework methods to new hires when necessary
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation
• Follow standard operating procedures and production targets daily
• Complete rework certification or re-certification training as required
