Building Maintenance Technician – HVAC & Facilities

Schedule: Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Building Maintenance Technician to support the daily operation, maintenance, and repair of facility systems. This role is responsible for preventive maintenance, work order completion, and troubleshooting HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure a safe and comfortable environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair building equipment and facility systems.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner.
• Conduct facility inspections and identify maintenance needs.
• Assist with seasonal startup and shutdown of building systems.
• Maintain maintenance records and documentation.
• Support facility operations during emergencies and weather-related events.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of building maintenance, facilities, HVAC, or mechanical experience.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform basic repairs independently.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Experience working in schools, hospitals, commercial buildings, or residential communities preferred.

Preferred Certifications

• EPA Certification
• HVAC Certification
• DC or Maryland Operating Engineer License (preferred but not required)
