Job Description
A Tier-2 supplier to the OEM Automotive industry is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the Company’s overall quality strategy and direction. This is a salaried position. Located in beautiful Oscoda, Michigan.
Position Highlights:
You must be a proactive, improvement and process-oriented change agent and a winning attitude.
Additionally, you must:
o Be a data driven and a fact-based decision maker.
o Manufacturing experience preferred.
o Be a strong effective communicator and able to sell your ideas to others.
o Be the “Voice of the Customer” internally and establish effective systems that monitor internal and external performance while maintaining system and process compliance to Customer Specific Requirements and industry standards.
o Have superior problem-solving skills and a solid skill set in process improvement and error proofing methodology.
o Prepare organization and lead Recertification Audits for IATF and ISO 14001 certification. Perform internal and external quality audits with sub-suppliers.
o Hold company Management Reviews and write reports using company KPIs.
o Reduce scrap through analysis of issues and problem solving
o Monitor and maintain the latest AIAG quality and environmental standards.
o Travel to sub-suppliers’ locations may be required
o Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations
o Supervise technicians to provide guidance and feedback
o GDT knowledge preferred or training provided.
Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree (Engineering preferred), college degree/certificate, or equal job experience.
o Have Internal Auditor Certifications for IATF16949 and ISO14001 systems.
o OEM automotive manufacturing experience
o Experience with ISO9001, IATF16949, and ISO14001 Quality and Environmental systems
o Excellent oral and written communication skills
o Be a natural motivating leader with a “can do” attitude.
o Ability to effectively communicate with internal audience, suppliers and customers on various levels. Must be able to interact with customer quality representatives on behalf of the company when presented with quality concerns.
o Understand AIAG core tools (SPC, MSA, PPAP, Minitab, etc.)
o Being able to collect, collate and analyze inspection and SPC data
o Understand improvement techniques and is versed in 6-Sigma and Lean techniques
o Have strong experience with general industry tools such as: PPAP requirements, Process Flow Charts, Control Plans, Process FMEA’s, DFMEA and Processes.
