Pharmacy Technician - Fulfillment
Location: Chesterfield, MO 63005 (100% onsite)
Pay Rate: $18–$21.00/hour
Schedule: 8-hour shifts during pharmacy hours (8:00 AM – 6:00 PM)
Overtime: None expected
Job Summary
We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists in accurately preparing and fulfilling prescription orders in a high-volume fulfillment environment. This role is ideal for pharmacy technicians who prefer a non-retail setting with no incoming phone calls and a strong focus on order accuracy, efficiency, and patient care. This team is responsible for fulfilling patient medication orders and shipping prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Accurately prepare prescription orders in a timely manner
- Perform prescription data entry (Pre-QA) by reviewing images and entering prescription information into the system
- Prepare and submit prescription refill requests
- Initiate clarification requests when necessary
- Receive verbal instructions from prescribers as permitted by pharmacy regulations
- Complete reorder processing to ensure timely prescription refills
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation and manage supplies
- Complete assigned worklists according to manager guidelines
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely and accurate prescription fulfillment
- Comply with all safety, quality assurance, accreditation, legal, state, and federal requirements
- Perform other duties as assigned
What a Typical Day Looks Like
- Set up your workstation and log into pharmacy systems
- Fill prescription orders for pharmacist review (primary focus)
- Assist with workspace organization, cleanliness, and supply management once orders are complete
- No constant phone interruptions—phone calls are handled by a separate team
Qualifications
Required:
- Missouri Pharmacy Technician License required
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3+ years of pharmacy technician experience
- Familiarity with medications commonly used to treat chronic or debilitating conditions
Preferred / Nice to Have:
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT)
- Prior experience in a pharmacy fulfillment or mail-order environment
