Job Summary:
The Ultrasonographer General is needed in Weirton, West Virginia, for a general ultrasound position specializing in small parts and vascular ultrasounds (upper and lower venous and arterial). Candidates will perform an average of 35 scans per day in a 12-hour night shift schedule, with shifts occurring on Fridays through Sundays. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day of the assignment.
Job Details:
- Required Qualifications: Valid West Virginia license, BLS certification, ARDMS certification, Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification via ARDMS, and a minimum of 1 year of experience in vascular ultrasound. Education or certification requirements include ARDMS and BLS certifications. Experience in small parts and vascular ultrasound is essential.
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, scheduled on Fridays through Sundays, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Additional Information: Must adhere to the 50-mile radius rule, working with three ultrasound scanners/rooms. No floating or covering other areas is required. The department utilizes EMR-Community Works and PACS-Intellirad/Intelliconnect systems. Department-specific equipment includes Siemens S2000 ultrasound machines. The radiologist is in-house 24/7 until 5 pm, then on call, covering interpretation from 2 am to 6 am. The team works on a 2, 2, 3 schedule between two teams.
- Other responsibilities: Starting IVs as required, conforming to department dress code, and completing a department-specific orientation consisting of five shifts with a preceptor. The client may cancel two shifts per 13-week assignment or one shift for shorter assignments.
- Additional Notes: The role may require participation in holiday rotation. The position is located at a healthcare facility in Weirton, WV.
