About the OpportunityHome Grown Outdoor Finishes, Inc., a leading hardscaping, asphalt paving, and landscaping company based in Elizabethtown, PA, is looking for a Sales & Project Estimator to join our growing team.
This position is a great fit for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys outdoor construction, understands project scopes, and has the communication skills needed to build strong relationships with customers. The Sales & Project Estimator will meet with clients, prepare accurate estimates and proposals, and help support continued sales growth for residential and commercial outdoor projects.
Position SummaryThe Sales & Project Estimator is responsible for evaluating customer needs, completing site visits, taking measurements, preparing estimates, reviewing project details, explaining pricing and timelines, and following up with leads to help close sales.
This role works closely with the operations team to ensure sold projects are communicated clearly and prepared for smooth execution. The estimator plays an important role in helping homeowners and businesses improve their outdoor spaces through high-quality hardscaping, paving, and landscaping services.
Key ResponsibilitiesSales & Estimating
- Meet with clients to understand project needs, goals, and expectations
- Visit job sites to take measurements, evaluate conditions, and gather project details
- Prepare accurate estimates, proposals, and contracts
- Explain pricing, materials, project timelines, and scope of work to customers
- Follow up with leads, proposals, and past customers in a timely and professional manner
- Negotiate contracts and close sales
- Build and maintain strong relationships with past clients to encourage referrals and repeat business
- Track sales activity, proposals, and customer communication in company systems
- Support sales growth through consistent follow-up and professional communication
Project Coordination
- Work closely with the operations team to support smooth project handoff and execution
- Communicate project details, materials, timelines, and customer expectations clearly
- Review project scopes for accuracy before work begins
- Help identify potential project challenges before production starts
- Ensure proposals and contracts are complete, accurate, and delivered on time
- Coordinate with internal team members regarding pricing, materials, and job requirements
- Maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, contracts, and client communication
- Estimates and proposals are accurate, complete, and delivered on time
- Client communication is clear, professional, and consistent
- Leads and customers are followed up with in an organized and timely manner
- Sales opportunities are tracked and managed effectively
- Project details are communicated clearly to the operations team
- Customer relationships are maintained to support referrals and repeat business
- Sales goals and production handoffs are supported with accuracy and professionalism
- Customers receive a positive experience throughout the estimating and sales process
- Experience in sales and estimating, preferably in construction, hardscaping, paving, landscaping, or a similar industry
- Strong communication, customer service, and negotiation skills
- Ability to read blueprints and understand project scopes
- Strong math, measuring, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities
- Proficiency with estimating software, Google Docs, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, and related tools
- Self-motivated, professional, and results-driven
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel locally for site visits
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to commute to Elizabethtown, PA 17022
- Ability to work in person
- $60,000 to $100,000 per year, based on experience and performance
