Sit down/Stand up Forklift Operator

Cornerstone Staffing Solutions is seeking a dedicated Sit Down/Stand Up Forklift Operator to join one of our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating sit-down and stand-up forklifts to handle materials, manage inventory, and support warehouse distribution operations. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and accurate movement of goods within the facility, contributing to overall operational excellence. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, experience with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts, including reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, and pallet jacks, to load and unload materials.
• Perform order picking using various equipment such as pickers and order picker machines to fulfill customer orders accurately.
• Manage inventory movement within the warehouse using warehouse management systems (WMS) to track stock levels and locations.
• Assist with shipping and receiving processes by preparing shipments, verifying orders, and ensuring proper documentation.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain optimal forklift performance; report mechanical issues promptly.
• Handle heavy lifting tasks safely, adhering to OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
• Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing materials for efficient storage and retrieval.
• Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve materials handling processes.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating various types of forklifts including sit-down, stand-up, reach truck, Hi-Lo, clamp truck, and pallet jacks.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control procedures.
• Prior experience in warehouse supervision or management is advantageous.
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and materials handling.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory counts and order accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
• Physical ability to lift heavy loads regularly and perform repetitive tasks safely. 2nd shift Monday-Friday 11:00am to 7:00pm (or until finish)
