About the Role

We're a Korean-Japanese soft serve and taiyaki shop with two locations — one in Shenandoah (The Woodlands) and one in West Houston. Small spaces, focused menu, teams of 13 to 15 part-timers per location.

The Woodlands location is running at a high standard — clean, organized, systems in place. West Houston is operational but is currently being brought up to the same standard. You won't be doing that alone — the directors will be hands-on through that process. But you will be part of it, and once both stores are aligned, maintaining that standard across both locations is your responsibility.

This is not a turnaround job you're thrown into alone. It's a build — done alongside leadership — and then yours to protect.

You'll split your time evenly between both locations — roughly half your week at The Woodlands, half at West Houston. Each store has its own team. Your job is to make sure both run the way they're supposed to, whether you're there or not.

This is not a clock-in, clock-out job. You are responsible for both stores even when you're not in them. If something goes wrong on your day off, you're the one who gets the call. If a team member doesn't show up, you find the solution. If a store isn't at standard, that's on you — not whoever was working.

We're looking for someone who takes ownership without being asked, catches problems before they become complaints, and genuinely cares whether both stores run well. We are also looking for someone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and not afraid to clean the restroom, wash dishes, work twice as hard as a regular worker.

What You'll Earn

  • Week 1 (Training): $15/hr (40-50 hours)
  • Week 2 onward: $55,000/year base salary + up to $5,000/year in quarterly performance bonuses = $60,000/year total

Each quarterly bonus is $1,250 and is tied to a transparent scorecard covering team management, customer experience, and operational standards across both locations. You know exactly what you're being measured on.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations and floor standards across two locations
  • Two teams of 13 to 15 part-timers: hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and accountability
  • Building and managing schedules for both stores
  • Inventory counts, submissions, and vendor ordering
  • Machine cleaning standards and training
  • Health and corporate inspection readiness at both locations
  • Customer experience and online review management
  • Station standards across register, taiyaki, ahboong, swirling, and toppings
  • Performance documentation and addressing issues as they happen
  • Proactive communication with directors
  • Keeping up with SomiSomi announcements, changes, and new menu items
  • Actively participating in bringing West Houston up to The Woodlands standard alongside the directors
  • Ensuring both locations consistently meet the standards set by ownership

This Role Is Not for Everyone

This role will be very hands on. We are NOT looking for someone who just shows up and tells people what to do but actually picks up a broom, washes dishes, mops, cleans the restroom etc.

Managing two locations means you can't be everywhere at once. That's exactly why we need someone whose standards don't depend on them being in the room. We need someone who:

  • Builds teams that hold the standard even when the manager isn't there
  • Shows up mentally even on their days off
  • Solves problems instead of reporting them and waiting
  • Holds people accountable firmly and fairly
  • Treats both stores like they're theirs
  • Never cuts corners because no one is watching
  • Understands that a bad review, a dirty floor, or a no-call no-show is their problem to fix — not someone else's

Schedule

  • Minimum 40 hours per week. Some weeks will require more
  • 5 days per week, split between The Woodlands and West Houston locations
  • A typical week mixes opens, closes, and mid shifts based on coverage needs across both stores
  • Open availability across all store hours is required. Weekends and holidays are non-negotiable
  • Must be able to commute to both locations — The Woodlands (Shenandoah, TX) and West Houston

What We're Looking For

  • Prior multi-location or multi-unit management experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years food service management or supervisory experience
  • Strong communicator — verbal and written
  • Comfortable being firm, direct, and holding teams accountable
  • Calm under pressure and decisive on your feet
  • Comfortable with a laptop for scheduling, messaging, and basic admin
  • Open availability as listed above
  • Looking for a long-term home, not a stepping stone
  • GED or higher
  • Texas Food Manager's Certification — or willingness to obtain within 60 days (we'll reimburse you)
