Lakeshore Talent is currently hiring on behalf of Merritt Trailers for a skilled and dependable Service Technician to join their Parts & Service team in Fremont, Nebraska.

Qualified candidates would have relevant experience working and troubleshooting on tailers, diesel, automotive with experience as a service tech, repair tech with hands-on expeirence wedling MIG - Aluminimum and Steel. Job Overview
This is a hands-on role focused on trailer repair, maintenance, and fabrication for livestock and commercial trailers. The Service Technician will play a key role in keeping equipment safe, reliable, and road-ready.
What You’ll Do
- Inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain livestock and commercial trailers
- Perform air system, ABS, suspension, electrical, hydraulic, and structural repairs on trailers
- Complete preventative maintenance, inspections, and DOT-related services
- Fabricate and repair components using steel and aluminum (cutting, grinding, welding)
- Read work orders, blueprints, and technical documentation
- Document completed work for billing and warranty purposes
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized shop
- Work closely with teammates to meet productivity and quality goals
What We’re Looking For
- 3–5 years of experience in repair, maintenance, or technical service roles; ideally with trailers, but automotive or diesel repair can translate
- High school diploma or GED
- MIG welding experience (steel and aluminum)
- Ability to read blueprints and perform basic shop math
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment
- Reliable, safety-focused, and able to work independently as skills progress
Requirements
- Must provide personal tools (tool list available; assistance may be provided)
- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks (standing, bending, kneeling, climbing)
- Willingness to work 40+ hours per week as needed

Position Details
Location: Onsite – Fremont, NE
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
Pay: Starting $25.36–$27.00/hour, depending on skills and experience; 90-day review with potential pay increase up to $32/hr after skills assessment!
