Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:
- Valid and active Virginia Special Education (SPED) Certification
- Experience working with high school students, preferably in a resource or inclusion setting
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with colleagues, students, and families
- Ability to adapt curriculum and modify instruction for diverse learning needs
- Commitment to fostering an equitable, supportive classroom environment
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small group instruction to meet the needs of students with varying abilities
- Develop, implement, and update Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Track and report student progress toward academic and behavioral goals
- Serve as an advocate for students, ensuring accommodations and modifications are in place
- Maintain accurate records, participate in parent meetings, and communicate progress regularly
- Foster positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families to cultivate student confidence and motivation
This contract begins in August 2026 and concludes in May 2027, with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule totaling 37.5 hours per week. This is an onsite-only role, providing opportunities for hands-on engagement and teamwork with fellow educators.
