Job Description
Active Secret Clearance, Painter
JOB DESCRIPTION
Support daily paint shop operations, including sanding, painting, and silk-screening activities in accordance with EPA standards. Perform paint application within a paint booth as part of the overall production process. Select and use appropriate paint tips based on application requirements while ensuring paint is properly prepared by checking viscosity and incorporating additives or thinners as needed. Inspect completed work to ensure consistent coverage and adherence to quality standards. Accurately read and follow paint sheets and work instructions, maintaining detailed records of paint usage and assisting with inventory tracking. Clean, maintain, and properly care for paint guns and related equipment, while also performing daily installation of paint filters and assisting with general paint booth cleanup. Maintain accountability for government-furnished equipment and tools at all times. Consistently wear required personal protective equipment, including a respirator, face shield, and rubber or chemical-resistant gloves, and follow all safety procedures. Continue to develop a strong working knowledge of operating standards, practices, procedures, and safety requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Active Secret Clearance
- 1 year experience in setting up, operating, and maintaining painting equipment and associated hardware.
- 2 years of experience in interpreting and working from blueprints, specification and samples.
- 3 years of experience in coating techniques, including powder coating, that ensure surfaces have smooth or textured appearance and meet thickness standards, preparation of surfaces using solvents, paint removers, abrasive blasting, sanding filling, shaping and leveling with metal and synthetics resins.
- 4 years of experience painting and preserving electronic equipment, panels, racks, cases, and mounts.

Quality Management System (QMS) experience that is compatible with ISO 9001:2008
