Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 academic year. This position is located near Amelia Court House, VA, and is dedicated to working with 9th through 12th-grade students in a fully onsite setting. You'll collaborate with school staff and families, implement individualized learning strategies, and make a meaningful difference in students’ education.

Your expertise and passionate approach will benefit students as you provide guidance, develop IEPs, foster a positive classroom environment, and build relationships that support academic and personal growth.

Qualifications:

  • Active Virginia Special Education (SPED) Certification required
  • Background in teaching or supporting high school students preferred
  • Experience developing and implementing IEPs is a plus
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized instruction and classroom management for high school students with special needs
  • Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Collaborate closely with other educators, support staff, and families to ensure student success
  • Maintain thorough, up-to-date documentation
  • Create a safe and welcoming classroom environment supporting students’ social and emotional growth
  • Participate in professional development and contribute positively to school culture

This contract role runs from August 2026 through May 2027, working 37.5 hours weekly across five days.
