Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education K-12 required.
- Understanding of instructional strategies for students with multiple disabilities, including visual impairment.
- Prior experience with visually impaired students preferred.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to lift/position students (up to 50 lbs.) as needed and perform physical tasks common to active K-12 settings.
- Comfort in a variety of environments, including therapy pool areas and outdoor activities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs and Re-evaluation Reports in line with IDEA and state guidelines.
- Deliver direct, customized instruction using accessible materials (braille, large print, tactile resources) and assistive technology tools.
- Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments to inform teaching approaches.
- Adapt curriculum and classroom materials to meet varied accessibility needs.
- Serve as team leader for instructional aides and related services providers, collaborating closely with families and colleagues.
- Collect and document student data, adjusting teaching methods based on progress.
- Foster positive behavior, social-emotional skills, and a safe, supportive class environment.
- Engage in ongoing professional development in vision education and special education best practices.
