Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education K-12 (required)
  • Experience with students who have visual and multiple disabilities preferred
  • Strong collaborative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; able to work in physically active settings and environments (including therapy pool, outdoors)
  • Comfortable with documentation, data-driven practice, and adaptability

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement individualized instructional programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments and additional disabilities
  • Conduct assessments and adapt materials into accessible formats (braille, auditory, tactile, etc.)
  • Lead classroom and team meetings; collaborate with related service providers
  • Foster accessibility, independence, and positive behavior supports
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation on student progress; support data-driven interventions
  • Engage in ongoing professional development
