Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This contract opportunity, located near Lapeer, MI, runs from August 17, 2026, through June 11, 2027, offering a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week. With a caseload of approximately 60 students, you’ll play a key role in fostering student growth and success in an urban school setting.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid Michigan School Psychologist Certification or Preliminary School Psychologist Certification required
- Official university transcripts must be provided prior to district consideration
- Experience supporting urban student populations is preferred; openness to working in an urban school environment is essential
- Previous professional background as a school psychologist or relevant agency experience is highly valued
- Understanding of special education under the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA federal regulations is advantageous
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate in developing and implementing early identification and intervention strategies for students experiencing academic, emotional, or social challenges
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to determine eligibility for special education services
- Clearly communicate findings and recommendations to parents, teachers, and administrators for effective educational planning
- Work closely with support staff and participate in professional development and in-service training to stay current with best practices and policies
- Ensure special education procedures are consistently applied across assigned schools
- Address additional responsibilities as needed in support of student and school success
