Hematology/Oncology Locums in Connecticut

Our organization is currently seeking a Hematology/Oncology locum tenens provider for a facility located in Connecticut.

• Coverage Reason: Maternity leave for a duration of 3 months
• Coverage Period: September to December 2026
• Travel Requirements: Candidates must be local; only mileage reimbursement will be provided
• Licensing: A valid Connecticut medical license is necessary

• Work Schedule:
  • 4 days per week in an outpatient setting (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)
  • Clinic hours are from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • On-call duties are part of the role
• On-Call Schedule:
  • 1:3 call rotation
  • Weeknight on-call duties
  • Weekend on-call from Friday at 4:00 PM to Monday at 7:00 AM

• Primarily adult and geriatric patients

• Hematology: 60%
• Oncology: 40%
• Internal Medicine: 0%

• Providing both outpatient and inpatient care in hematology and oncology
• Engaging in tumor board meetings
• Ordering diagnostic tests and imaging studies
• Prescribing appropriate treatments

• Physician Team: Comprises 3 physicians (including one on maternity leave)
• Advanced Practice Providers: 2 APPs available
• Radiation Oncology: On-site services provided
• Average Patient Volume:
  • Outpatient: 15-16 patients daily
  • Inpatient (during rounding/call): Approximately 1-5 patients

• Hospital Classification: Level II Trauma Center
• Electronic Medical Records: Utilizes EPIC system
• Chemotherapy Administration: Managed by oncology nursing staff
