Seeking Experienced and Committed Family Medicine Faculty to Mentor Future Clinicians in Southwest Virginia

Our organization is in search of a Board-Certified Core Faculty member for the Family Medicine Residency Program, which was established in 2015 and operates within a 116-bed community hospital.

This position is part of the Dr. S. Hughes Melton Family Residency Program, situated at Johnston Memorial Hospital in the charming town of Abingdon, Virginia.

The ideal candidate should possess board certification in Family Medicine and have comprehensive training in full-scope family medicine, along with a passion for delivering patient care across various environments. A strong dedication to graduate medical education is essential. This full-time role encompasses the following responsibilities: supervising residents in both clinical and hospital settings, participating in meetings, conducting candidate interviews, developing curriculum, engaging in research, and providing direct patient care while collaborating with residents. The primary focus will be on resident education, but the role will also include teaching medical students and overseeing advanced practice providers.
