Family Medicine/Sports Medicine Faculty - Wilmington, NC

Our organization, a comprehensive network of physician clinics, outpatient facilities, and hospitals spanning four states, is seeking a family medicine physician with a fellowship in sports medicine to become part of our family medicine residency program located in Wilmington, NC.

• Become a member of an ACGME accredited 6-6-6 community program with Osteopathic Recognition, associated with the Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

• The selected candidate will have the chance to establish a new sports medicine program within family medicine and collaborate with a nearby military base to create a sports medicine fellowship.

• Applicants should possess an MD or DO degree and be board certified in Family Medicine. While prior experience in residency teaching or private practice is advantageous, it is not mandatory.

• Responsibilities will include educating residents and students, providing patient care (with optional low-risk obstetrics), engaging in administrative tasks, and conducting research.

• This program serves a diverse range of historically marginalized and underserved communities, including individuals with opioid use disorder, HIV, and a growing LGBTQ+ population.

• Compensation and academic rank will be aligned with the candidate's qualifications and experience, with promotions managed through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's Department of Family Medicine.
