Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Operating Room position requiring a WV or compact license, 2 years of OR experience, and participation in a weekend call rotation.

Details\n

• Acute care Operating Room setting with 15 surgical suites
\n
• Handles 55-70 cases per day covering all procedures including same-day and overnight stays
\n
• Preop care scrubbing responsibilities only
\n
• Uses Sunrise EMR, transitioning to EPIC in April
\n
• Day shift scheduling options of 6-2, 7-3, 8-4, or 9-5 with 4x10-hour or 3x12-hour shifts
\n
• No blocked scheduling
\n
• Weekend rotation includes 1 weekend call day and 1 weekend scheduled shift per 4-week schedule
\n
• On-call requirement of 1-2 second calls per month, including a 24-hour weekend call shift from 7A-7A
\n
• Call response time of 30 minutes required
\n
• Floating to the OR holding area required
\n
• Occasional midnight and holiday shifts based on departmental needs
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active WV or compact RN license required
\n
• BLS certification required
\n
• Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
\n
• Strong IV skills required
\n
• Surgical care knowledge and robotics experience required
\n
• BSN not required
\n
• Copy of unexpired driver's license required for consideration
\n

• Provides preoperative nursing care within a hospital-based surgical center
\n
• Scrubs provided by the facility
\n
• Unit-specific orientation covers the surgical center and pre-op area
\n
• Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius, and local travelers are not accepted for this position
\n
• Travelers with prior experience at any WVU Medicine facility must have completed a 2-year break before reapplying
\n
• Cumulative traveler assignments within WVU Medicine are limited to one year, after which a 2-year break is required
\n
