Description\n

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 1+ years of critical care stepdown experience and an active AL or compact RN license.

Details\n

\n
• Work in the Progressive Care/Critical Care Stepdown Unit of a Trauma Level 2 hospital
\n
• 31-bed unit caring for adult and geriatric patients
\n
• Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5
\n
• Common diagnoses include post vascular, post CABG, CVA, respiratory failure, heart failure, and chest pain/post cath lab
\n
• Uses Baxter IV pumps and occasional epidural pumps
\n
• Meditech EHR used for charting
\n
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
\n
• Required to work every other weekend
\n
• No on-call responsibilities
\n
• Possible floating to Med-Surg, though not likely
\n

Requirements\n

\n
• Active RN license (AL or Compact) currently in hand
\n
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
\n
• Minimum 1 year of critical care stepdown/PCU experience required
\n
• ADN or BSN required
\n
• Experience with cardiac drips and chest tubes required
\n
• Critical care stepdown/PCU and TR bands experience preferred
\n

Additional Information\n

\n
• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a critical care stepdown setting
\n
• Weekly orientation held on Mondays
\n
• Royal blue scrub color required
\n
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility
\n
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
\n
• Cannot be employed elsewhere full time
\n
