This exciting locum tenens opportunity for a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner in Newberg, OR, offers the chance to work in a dynamic hospital setting. You will provide critical care to neonates, balancing in-house responsibilities with on-call duties. The flexible schedule includes 12-hour shifts and call periods, allowing integration into a multi-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive neonatal critical care
  • Round on newborns and respond to urgent resuscitation cases (approximately 1-3 per week)
  • Perform procedures such as intubation, UVC, and needle decompression
  • Interpret X-rays and manage acute neonatal conditions

Qualifications

  • Active OR license and DEA required
  • Board Certified (BC) only
  • BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications are mandatory
  • Skills in neonatal intubation, resuscitation, and emergency interventions

Working Hours

  • In-house work of 6-8 hours per day between 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Call periods extend from end of in-house hours to 7:00 AM the following day
  • Must be within 30 minutes of the hospital during call

Skills

  • Resuscitation and emergency airway management skills
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting neonatal X-rays
  • Capable of performing lumber punctures and other advanced procedures preferred
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team
