Job Description
When you work as an Associate Scientist in the BioPharma Sciences group at KCAS, you get to further our mission by applying your knowledge in bioanalytical and scientific principles to support study execution and development activities with increasing independence. You will contribute to study activities from setup through data generation while continuing to build your ability to assess data integrity and troubleshoot with guidance.
Our BioPharma Sciences team uses ligand binding assay (LBA) platforms to conduct bioanalytical testing in support of drug discovery, preclinical, and clinical studies, including the quantification of proteins, biomarkers, and anti-drug antibodies in biological matrices using technologies such as ELISA, MSD, and other immunoassay-based methods.
- Execute assigned study activities including sample preparation, reagent preparation, and assay execution with moderate supervision
- Support method development, qualification, and validation activities and begin contributing to assay optimization
- Perform data processing and prepare data summaries for review by senior scientists
- Troubleshoot routine assay or instrumentation issues and escalate more complex challenges appropriately
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with study protocols, SOPs & GLP regulatory requirements
- Ensure proper sample identification, handling, and tracking in accordance with GLP standards
- Communicate study progress, risks, and timelines to senior staff
- Provide informal support and guidance to junior staff as needed
- Perform all aspects of the job in a way that supports company brand and supports company mission, vision, and values
- Bachelor’s or master’s in biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or related field with 1–3 years of experience in a bioanalytical laboratory environment
- Hands-on experience working in a GLP-regulated laboratory environment (required)
- Experience with ligand binding assays (LBA) such as ELISA, MSD, or similar immunoassay platforms
- Working knowledge of assay workflows including sample preparation, reagent handling, and plate-based assays
- Basic understanding of assay performance characteristics (precision, accuracy, sensitivity, selectivity)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work within SOP-driven and regulated environments
