Our client is seeking an experienced Leave of Absence Specialist to support a high-volume employee population. This role will be responsible for administering and tracking leave programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and serving as a key resource for employees, managers, HR, payroll, and benefits teams throughout the leave process.

Responsibilities of the Leave of Absence Specialist
  • Manage the full lifecycle of employee leave requests, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, short-term disability, long-term disability, paid family leave, military leave, and other leave programs.
  • Review documentation, determine eligibility, and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Maintain accurate leave records and employee data within UKG and related HR systems.
  • Partner with employees, managers, HR, payroll, and benefits teams to coordinate leave administration and return-to-work processes.
  • Track leave timelines, certifications, recertifications, and required documentation.
  • Respond to employee inquiries and provide guidance regarding leave policies, benefits, and available resources.
  • Generate reports, conduct audits, and ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Support continuous improvement of leave administration processes and employee experience.
Requirements of the Leave of Absence Specialist
  • 2+ years of Leave of Absence administration experience in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, STD, LTD, Workers' Compensation, and state leave laws.
  • Experience managing large employee populations and multiple concurrent leave cases.
  • Hands-on experience with UKG (strongly preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive employee information.
  • Experience supporting multi-state employee populations.
  • HRIS, Benefits, or Leave Administration certification.
  • Experience working closely with payroll, benefits, and employee relations teams.
