General Summary:

TheMission CriticalQuality/Commissioning Manager (QCxM) will work with project managers and project teams to implement and manage project specific quality programs and procedures. TheQCxMwill also assist project teams, ensuring that project work planning procedures are followed, and proper project work plans, procedures, checklists, plans, forms, and logs are developed and used throughout theProject. The position could be responsible formultipleprojects at a time.

Preferred Job Skills:

  • Knowledge of building codes and regulations including Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
  • Minimum of 5 years electrical construction,QualityControl, or Commissioningexperience required.
  • Must be able to read and interpretspecifications,submittals, single-line diagramsand other contract documents.
  • Ability to work under pressure,whileclosely trackingQC details of multiple project activities.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity withConstruction Management software andMicrosoft Office.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, hands-on, working environment.
  • Must have experience in a decision-making position,beself-motivated,and have ananalyticalmindset.
  • Experience collaborating with field and management to understand and implement technological and Quality programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive a quality culture that embraces "Implement Quality from the Start" andcoach continuous learning approach that improves project efficiency and quality.
  • Identifyareas for improvement while implementing best practices to enhance operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Drivetheimplementation of the Quality/ CommissioningProgramsonprojects, focusing on core programs includingsitespecificqualityplans, policies, and procedures on projectsthrough proactive planning, training, support andbysharing lessons learned.
  • Establish andmaintaingood working relationships with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, commissioningagentsand vendors to ensure that the site-specificQCxProgram is followed for all projects.
  • Managetheverification and documentation for allOwnerFurnishedContractorInstalled (OFCI)equipment, ensuring theconformance with the approved submittalwhile adhering to theEquipment Protection Plan.
  • Collaboratewith thecustomers,constructionteams, andQCxteams to schedule and conduct Foreign Objects and Debris (FOD) inspections prior to Energization on MV / LV SWGR, MV / LV XFMRs, Panelboards etc.
  • Prepare and managethe First TimeEnergization(FTE)process from start to finish.
  • Professionally coordinatewith the client and all stakeholders involvedinday-to-day start-up andCxactivities.
  • Support/participateinrequireddaily,weeklyand monthly meetings (i.e.dailyCx, scheduling, coordination,pre-energizationand staffing meetings).
  • Manage allprojectIssueLogsand punch listscollaboratingwith all affected and/or responsible parties to mitigateand driveto closureany open issues.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of processes,systems, and documentationto ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • PrepareDaily Quality Reportsdocumenting fielddiscrepancies andauditfindingswhilecoordinatingcorrectiveactions.
  • Generate and presentemployeeperformanceevaluationstothemanagementteam.
  • Lead investigations into quality-related incidents,conductroot cause analyses andimplementcorrective actions,establishingpreventative measures to minimize future incidents.
  • Ascertain informationregardingchangestoregulations that could impactMission Criticaloperations.
  • Identifyand assess quality risks associated withMission Criticaloperations.
  • Otherdutiesassigned,including temporary assignments, training assignments, and other related duties.


Position Requirements:

  • License:None required.
  • Certification:Construction Quality Control Management for Contractors (CQMC)andConstruction Quality Manager(CCQM).
  • Education:Bachelors degree in quality management, Engineering or Constructionpreferred.
  • Experience:Knowledge of themission criticalconstruction quality process means and methods, and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures and tolerances.Military experience is a plus.
