Schedule 1: Sun, Mon, Tues, Thurs 5:00a - 3:00p
Schedule 2: Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon 5:00a - 3:00p
Schedule 3: Sun, Wed, Thurs, Fri 3:30p - 1:30a
Employment Type: W2 Assignment with high potential for extension or conversion to full-time employment (FTE) based on business needs. Benefits are available to full-time employees after 90 days of employment.
Job Overview:
The Pharmacy Technician supports prescription fulfillment operations within a high-volume micro fulfillment center. This role is responsible for accurately processing prescription data, assisting with medication preparation workflows, operating automated fulfillment equipment, and ensuring timely movement of prescriptions through each stage of the dispensing and shipping process. The position requires strict adherence to HIPAA regulations, established data entry procedures, and quality control standards while supporting pharmacists and resolving prescription processing issues as needed.
Job Responsibilities
- Enter new patient registration and prescription information into the designated system using established data entry procedures
- Process refill requests and handle prescription orders in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
- Troubleshoot missing prescription details and interpret medical abbreviations (SIG codes) to ensure accurate processing
- Resolve data entry exceptions and assist in correcting prescription workflow issues
- Operate automated pharmacy machinery and support movement of inventory through fulfillment stages
- Sort, count, fill, label, pack, and prepare prescription medications for shipment
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and assist with routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment
- Resolve third-party insurance rejects by reviewing details, correcting information, and resubmitting claims based on plan requirements
- Support pharmacists both onsite and at other locations as needed
- Identify and escalate operational or processing issues to senior staff when appropriate
Skills and Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Pharmacy Technician Licensure/Trainee Licensure
- Basic computer skills including logging in/out, navigating systems, saving and printing documents, and accessing online tools
- Ability to use search engines, navigate web browsers, and complete online forms
- Intermediate keyboarding skills (minimum 25 WPM required; 35 WPM preferred)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including overnight schedules
- Must be able to perform physical tasks including pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a high-volume, structured production environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively within a team setting
