About the Role:
The Shipping and Receiving 1 position is a critical entry-level role responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments within the organization. This role involves coordinating the receipt, storage, and distribution of materials and products, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting overall supply chain operations. The individual will work closely with warehouse staff, carriers, and internal departments to facilitate smooth logistics processes and timely delivery schedules. Attention to detail and adherence to safety and compliance standards are essential to prevent errors and maintain operational integrity. Ultimately, this role contributes to the organization's ability to meet customer demands and maintain a reliable flow of goods.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of shipping and receiving procedures.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems or willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or receiving role.
- Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment.
- Basic computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory software.
- Understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards in a warehouse environment.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and external partners.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company standards and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities, including documentation and inventory updates.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight companies to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely transportation of goods.
- Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently to move products within the warehouse.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to resolve discrepancies, delays, or damages related to shipments.
