Nature Center Intern (Seasonal)
Position Summary
The Nature Center Intern supports the mission of Mountain Lake Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental stewardship, education, and preservation. This role assists with animal care, guest engagement, and outdoor programming while working closely with the Recreation Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily care of reptiles, amphibians, and mammals
- Lead guest education programs and nature activities
- Support guided hikes and outdoor experiences
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Nature Center
- Assist with Conservancy events and programming
Qualifications
- Passion for nature and wildlife
- Comfortable handling animals or willing to learn
- Strong communication and guest service skills
- Reliable and team-oriented
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
Schedule
Seasonal (May–September). Must be available weekends, holidays, and some evenings.
