This position leads the planning and daily operations of the medical record department to support patient care and hospital compliance. As a Medical Records Director, you will perform the following duties:
- Department Leadership: Direct and supervise medical records staff and daily operations
- Compliance Oversight: Apply current laws, policies, and standards to guide recordkeeping practices
- Record Management: Maintain patient records with accuracy, security, and proper documentation
- Electronic Health Record Coordination: Support the development and use of the hospital electronic medical record system
- Policy Development: Review and update medical record procedures to ensure consistency and clarity
- Performance Monitoring: Review records and statistics to support quality improvement efforts

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
- Overtime and travel: As needed
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Registration as a Medical Records Administrator with the American Health Information Management Association; or
- Two years of experience as a Medical Records Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); and registration as a Medical Records Technician with the American Health Information Management Association; or
- Four years of experience in the preparation, classification and abstracting of medical reports in a medical records department; and registration as a Medical Records Technician with the American Health Information Management Association.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
- Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
