Program Instructor III - Enhance Fitness Instructor

Job Summary

This position plans and teaches senior EnhanceFitness classes at the Peter Kirk Community Center one to three days a week. Instructors maintain a safe environment and ensures that participants follow safe exercise procedures.

Hours of Work

Hours will vary but will typically be Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 10-11:30am.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Good communication skills are required.
• Ability to interact courteously with the public.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated good judgement in problem solving and responding to customer needs.
• Proficiency in standard computer software.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1. Instructor must complete EF new instructor training before teaching class.

2. Must have one year of experience teaching in related field.

3. Must have instructor certification.

4. Must have or be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification by start date.

5. Must successfully complete a thorough background check as required by the Child/Adult Abuse Information Act.

6. Must be age 18 or older.

Working Conditions & Physical Activities

Work is performed in a community center setting, with high levels of noise and seasonal temperature extremes. Must have ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. Must be able to walk, climb, bend, and stoop to complete tasks.
