Step into the role of Delaware River Biologist with the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and be at the forefront of aquatic resource management. In this key role, you will be responsible for the initiation, coordination and administration of fisheries management activities in the Delaware River system, which includes the mainstem Delaware River, West Branch Delaware River, mainstem Lehigh River (upstream to the Francis E Walter Dam), and mainstem Schuylkill River (upstream to the Fairmount Dam). As the Delaware River Biologist, you will perform the following duties:
- Conduct Research: Design and carry out studies on fish populations, habitat conditions, water quality, and water quality
- Analyze Data: Use scientific methods and statistical tools to interpret survey results and draw conclusions
- Prepare Reports: Write scientific and technical reports, articles, and presentations to summarize findings
- Supervise Staff: Lead Fisheries and Biologist Aides in data collection, lab tasks, and field operations

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Swiftwater. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as a Fisheries Biologist 1, PFBC, (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- One year of professional experience conducting fish studies, fish investigations, or fish research and a bachelor's degree in a biological science that includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in fish biology, fisheries management, fish population dynamics, ichthyology, limnology, fish ecology, aquatic ecology, watershed ecology and management, wetland ecology and management, herpetology, freshwater entomology, fish culture, fish physiology, fish pathology, biometrics, or other courses closely related to fisheries science or aquatic ecology; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes 12 college credits in fish biology, fisheries management, fish population dynamics, ichthyology, limnology, fish ecology, aquatic ecology, watershed ecology and management, wetland ecology and management, herpetology, freshwater entomology, fish culture, fish physiology, fish pathology, biometrics, or other courses closely related to fisheries science or aquatic ecology.
Special Requirement:
- You must possess a valid driver's license.
Other Requirements:
- PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.

- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
