DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position supports the operational needs of the Delaware County Assistance Office by completing a wide range of clerical tasks that keep benefit programs running efficiently. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Application Processing: Access CIS menus to complete file clearances, register applications, and update grant activities
- Case Initiation: Enter client information from applications into the system to prepare cases for Income Maintenance staff
- Clerical Transactions: Input and maintain demographic and case data, process transaction requests, and reconcile case information
- Reapplication Support: Prepare and issue recertification notices, schedule appointments, and handle related forms and data
- IEVS Actions: Retrieve, print, and route IEVS information, record disposition codes, and enter case narratives
- Customer Service: Greet visitors and/or respond to phone calls/voicemails to determine their needs to provide them with appropriate information or refer to appropriate individuals.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with a 1-hour lunch.
- Travel and overtime as needed.

- Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
- Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Delaware County. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
- Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
