Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Make a meaningful difference supporting students’ growth and success as a contracted School Psychologist in the Topeka area. Your expertise will help empower learners and staff while you enjoy flexibility in both caseload and grade level, with a current emphasis on high school re-evaluations. This extended assignment begins August 6, 2026, and runs through May 21, 2027, giving you the opportunity to become an integral resource for your school community.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid, active School Psychologist license in Kansas
- Thorough understanding of the evaluation and re-evaluation process for special education
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
- Strong assessment, counseling, and consultation skills
- Ability to collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Organized, flexible, and solution-oriented approach to student services
- Knowledge of current legal regulations, ethical standards, and best practices in school psychology
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and interpret psychological evaluations, with emphasis on high school re-evaluations
- Develop data-driven, student-centered recommendations and collaborate on eligibility decisions
- Consult with teachers, parents, and support staff to support student interventions
- Assist in developing and implementing IEPs, 504s, and behavior plans
- Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and support as needed
- Maintain thorough documentation and confidentiality at all times
- Contribute insights to student support teams to promote a positive, inclusive educational environment
