Job Description

The Small Parts Assembler works with small components to build and assemble chair parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, using hand and power tools to complete accurate, efficient assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Pick and organize materials such as nuts, bolts, and other small components to prepare assembly kits.
  • Assemble small parts and components to build sections of chairs according to established specifications and quality standards.
  • Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete assembly tasks.
  • Follow production instructions and work orders to ensure accurate and timely completion of assemblies.
  • Maintain an organized work area and ensure materials are properly labeled and stored for efficient workflow.
  • Inspect assembled parts for quality, identifying and addressing basic defects or assembly issues.
  • Work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and procedures while operating tools and performing assembly tasks.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of manufacturing or assembly experience.
  • Hands-on experience with assembly work involving small parts and components.
  • Ability to use hand tools safely and accurately.
  • Ability to use basic power tools in an assembly environment.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate assembly of chair components.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing or assembly processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience assembling furniture or similar products is beneficial.
  • Comfort working with repetitive tasks and small components.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions for assembly tasks.
  • Strong organizational skills for picking and organizing materials and kits.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility, so temperatures will vary with the seasons. The position follows a first-shift schedule, typically 4:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, with frequent work on Fridays depending on production needs. You will work in a fast-paced production area using hand tools and power tools to assemble small parts. The environment includes standard manufacturing noise and activity, and you should be prepared for standing, moving, and working with tools for extended periods.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $16.50 - $16.50/hr.
