Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan special education teaching license
  • Experience or strong interest in working with K-12 students with moderate cognitive impairments (MoCI)
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Passion for facilitating growth, learning, and inclusion in a school setting

ResponsibilitIes:

  • Provide high-quality instruction and support for students with moderate cognitive impairments across grade levels K-12
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create an effective and individualized learning experience
  • Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student programs, services provided, and progress reports in compliance with district and state regulations
  • Foster a positive, supportive, and engaging classroom environment that promotes success and independence
