Aerotek is hiring Equipment Wash Technician (General Labor)
1st shift

Responsibilities
- Perform high-pressure washing, degreasing, and detailed cleaning of construction equipment such as skid steers, excavators, forklifts, loaders, trucks, and related attachments.
- Safely operate pressure washers, hoses, cleaning chemicals, and other wash equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Remove mud, dirt, debris, oil, and grease buildup from machinery and attachments to meet cleanliness standards.
- Inspect equipment before and after cleaning to verify that all surfaces and components are properly washed.
- Maintain the wash bin/wash bay area by clearing debris, draining water when required, and following environmental guidelines.
- Safely move or position equipment as needed; participate in any provided training or certification related to equipment movement.
- Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe chemical handling, and awareness of slip, trip, and fall hazards.
- Report any damage, defects, or equipment issues immediately to supervisors or maintenance teams.
- Keep tools, hoses, and the work area organized, clean, and in proper working condition.
- Work productively outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on cleanliness and safety standards.
- Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to support smooth daily operations in the wash-bay area.
Essential Skills
- Experience in general labor or similar physically demanding roles.
- Ability to perform pressure washing and equipment cleaning tasks, or willingness to learn these skills.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining productivity and safety.
- Comfort working around heavy machinery and construction equipment.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to meeting cleanliness and safety standards.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, and moving equipment for extended periods.
- Basic understanding of safety procedures related to chemicals, hoses, and slip/trip hazards.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with consistent attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Safety-focused mindset and willingness to follow established procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience with pressure washing or equipment cleaning (preferred but not required).
- Mechanical awareness or familiarity with construction equipment (a plus).
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Openness to training or certification related to moving or positioning equipment.
- Willingness to adapt to changing tasks and priorities within the wash-bay environment.

Work Environment
This role is based in an outdoor wash bin/wash bay environment operating Monday through Friday, typically from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with possible hours between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The work involves regular exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, mud, dirt, and varying outdoor weather conditions. The wash-bay area can be wet and hot and is exposed to the elements, although a large overhead covering reduces direct exposure from above. Personal protective equipment such as rubber boots, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection is used regularly to support a safe work environment. The setting is hands-on, physically active, and centered around heavy construction equipment and wash-bay tools.
