Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains a wide range of industrial equipment and facility systems to keep production running safely and efficiently. This role focuses primarily on mechanical breakdowns with some electrical troubleshooting, working from schematics and workbooks as needed to diagnose issues and implement effective repairs.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair onsite equipment, including forklifts, welders, overhead cranes, saws, sandblast booths, paint booths, and related machinery.
  • Perform facilities maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, basic HVAC work, and general building upkeep.
  • Work with motors and equipment up to 440 volts, performing electrical troubleshooting to identify issues and determine when to engage external electrical vendors for complex repairs.
  • Diagnose mechanical breakdowns, with a focus on hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems, and implement timely repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and workbooks to guide troubleshooting and repair activities.
  • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance according to the plant’s preventive maintenance (PM) system and schedules.
  • Use hand tools and basic carpentry and plumbing skills to complete maintenance and repair tasks as needed.
  • Support industrial maintenance activities across the plant to ensure equipment remains safe, reliable, and compliant with applicable standards.
  • Collaborate with another maintenance technician and production staff to prioritize work orders and respond to urgent maintenance needs.
  • Document maintenance work performed and communicate equipment status and issues to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Follow OSHA safety practices and standards during all maintenance activities and promote a strong safety culture within the facility.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of mechanical troubleshooting experience, including work with hydraulics, pneumatics, and hand tools.
  • At least 1 year of electrical experience with 110-volt systems, including wiring and conduit work.
  • Hands-on experience performing preventative maintenance on industrial or facility equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and work safely with motors and equipment up to 440 volts.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with industrial maintenance, including troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and basic electrical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for both mechanical and electrical issues in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools safely and effectively.
  • Basic HVAC maintenance experience.
  • Basic carpentry and plumbing skills applicable to facility maintenance.
  • Capability to perform maintenance repair tasks independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to following OSHA safety practices and standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of maintenance experience in the RV industry or a closely related industrial environment.
  • Experience repairing welders, overhead cranes, paint booths, and similar industrial equipment.
  • Experience with preventive and corrective maintenance programs in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Familiarity with electrical troubleshooting and electrical maintenance beyond basic 110-volt systems.
  • Comfort working in a safety-focused, OSHA-compliant industrial facility.

Work Environment

This position operates in an industrial plant setting where the maintenance department supports all production equipment and facility systems. You will work on a first-shift schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The environment includes forklifts, welders, overhead cranes, saws, sandblast and paint booths, and other industrial machinery, as well as facility systems such as HVAC, lighting, and building infrastructure. Work involves both mechanical and electrical tasks, including handling equipment up to 440 volts, with a strong emphasis on safety and adherence to OSHA standards. You will use a range of hand tools and perform tasks that may involve carpentry, plumbing, and HVAC maintenance. The maintenance team is small and collaborative, with technicians working side by side to keep the plant’s equipment operating reliably and safely.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
