Job Title: Environmental Services Technician
Job Description

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for cleaning non-occupied patient rooms, ensuring they are thoroughly disinfected and ready for the next patient. Each room requires deep cleaning, which includes making the bed, flipping the mattress, and disinfecting all surfaces. The technician will also handle linens, placing them in large, heavy bags to be disposed of appropriately. Additionally, the role includes cleaning Isolation rooms, which demands adherence to strict safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform deep cleaning of non-occupied patient rooms, including making beds and flipping mattresses.
• Disinfect entire room thoroughly, ensuring all surfaces are sanitized.
• Handle and dispose of linens by placing them in large, heavy bags and disposing of them correctly.
• Clean Isolation rooms while following strict safety measures.
• Use a string mop for thorough mopping of floors.
• Maintain communication and interact with patients, nurses, doctors, and the housekeeping team.

Essential Skills

• 6 months of previous experience in hospital or hotel cleaning/housekeeping.
• Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, nurses, and the housekeeping team.
• Strong customer service skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in janitorial or housekeeping roles.
• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.

Work Environment

Work in a hospital setting where adherence to strict safety and cleanliness protocols is essential. The role involves working independently for most of the shift from 10:30 PM to 7 AM, with rotating weekends. The dress code requires no facial piercings, and tattoos must be covered. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of ROUND ROCK, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.75 - $18.50/hr.
