Job Description
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support a non-profit organization in Adelanto, California through accurate and timely payroll administration. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a self-directed, detail-oriented individual with experience managing full-cycle payroll and maintaining precise financial records. The role will work closely with payroll systems and third-party processing partners to help ensure employees are paid correctly and on schedule.
Responsibilities:
• Manage end-to-end payroll activities for regular payroll cycles, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with established practices.
• Process payroll information using ADP Workforce Now and coordinate payroll submission through a third-party provider, including Paychex.
• Review earnings, deductions, and payroll changes to confirm that employee compensation is calculated correctly.
• Prepare and record payroll-related journal entries and support accurate reconciliation of payroll data within financial records.
• Handle payroll items related to retirement reporting, including work involving CalPERS-related payroll considerations.
• Investigate payroll discrepancies, resolve issues efficiently, and respond to payroll questions from internal stakeholders.
• Maintain organized payroll documentation and support reporting needs associated with payroll operations.
• Contribute to payroll continuity in a hybrid work environment, including occasional onsite support as needed.
