Labor & Delivery / OB RN – Waimea, HI
Location: Waimea, HI
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Varied (Must Be Flexible – Night Shift Preferred)
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery / Obstetrics Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Waimea, Hawaii. The selected candidate will work in a 5-bed OB Unit providing care across the full continuum of obstetrical services.
Unit Responsibilities:
- Care for Antepartum, Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Nursery, and Outpatient Testing patients
- Manage high-risk obstetric cases including PIH, placenta previa, placental abruption, VBAC, GDM, preterm labor, PROM, and other complications
- Provide care for laboring mothers, postpartum patients, and newborns
- Perform newborn assessments, APGAR scoring, neonatal IV starts, PKU testing, phototherapy care, and neonatal resuscitation as needed
- Monitor and interpret fetal heart tracings and communicate findings with providers
- Administer and titrate medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and Insulin drips
- Assist with epidurals, C-sections, circumcisions, and postpartum recovery
- Float to other departments when census requires
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery and Couplet Care experience
- Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Nursery experience required
- Active RN License
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, STABLE, and Fetal Monitoring (FM) certifications
- Must be comfortable caring for antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, high-risk OB, and newborn patients
- Must be willing to work any shift as assigned, with nights preferred
